NCL Helps Holiday Gift-Giving Program
The San Marino Chapter of National Charity League recently participated in a two-day Christmas gift-giving program that benefits critically ill patients and their families. The San Marino chapter and CARES — the Auxiliary for Los Angeles County+USC Medical Center — joined forces to serve the community with this special program. This year marks the 35th year that the chapter has participated.
More than 200 NCL Patronesses and Ticktockers worked countless hours shopping and filling large bags with gifts for all ages. Thanks to the generosity of members giving monetary donations, gifts and time, this year the group expects to serve more than 400 needy families and 1,400 children ages 0-18 years, who are referred by different departments within the hospital.
This program provides a special Christmas for so many children who would otherwise not have one. Besides filling bags with gifts for the hospital, patients and their families, members have the opportunity to meet the families and give the bags directly to them.
